The Magnolia Inn is a beautiful facility that sits atop a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in scenic Half Moon Bay California. Seven rooms are individually decorated and each have their own antique theme. We offer a full bed-and-breakfast Inn, with a complimentary breakfast served every morning to all our guests. Magnolia’s goal market strategy is to become a destination of choice among professional couples in San Francisco Bay who are looking for a place where they can recharge and relax. We will also promote to newly married couples looking for that special getaway. It will be important for us to be visible to those potential guests who are traveling on Highway 101 through Half Moon Bay.
Magnolia will be displaying an attractive sign to inform potential customers and passers-by about our existence. We will use the Yellow Pages in the Bay area to market our Inn, as well as a Web page on the Internet which will focus on the features the Inn has to offer. Each room will have its own unique decor. The Inn’s exterior will show the stunning gardens and views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Attractions within 30 miles of the Inn will be displayed with information about our shuttle service, room rates and directions. The Magnolia is positive that the Inn will quickly build a following that will enable us to meet our full capacity within the next 12 months. The Inn desires steady growth with an average capacity of over 90% for Year 1, and profits increasing at a rate that is 10%.
Jim Anderson and Nancy Anderson live in Magnolia year round. The Andersons are involved owners and manage all aspects of the Inn’s operations. The Inn employs a small staff of cooks and maids. The cook will work 20 hour a week while the maid will stay on the payroll for 40 hours. Nancy will also need the maid to help her take reservations and supervise the front desk. Nancy will oversee all inside operations. She will also work with the cook and maid. Jim will manage the grounds and shuttle guests around in the van. Nancy and Jim both will promote the Inn through advertising.
Magnolia Inn will provide a relaxing setting for our guests to experience the many beauty of California’s coastline. Each guest will be given the same kind of personal attention as a family member. Our guests will feel like they are stepping into a world where luxury and rest is all around them when they arrive. As the owners, we want to ensure that every guest is treated with respect and care.
