Horse Training Business Plan

Horse Training Business Plan

The Company

Ereidi Farm was started as a part-time home-based business while the owner raised her child. She has many years of experience in the business and is well-suited to the farm’s services. Ereidi Farm is an elite thoroughbred breeding facility and training farm. It specializes in highly personalized horse care programs. Ereidi Farm has always focused on its clients and their equine investments and genuinely enjoys assisting clients.

Our commitment to our clients is long-term. We have never stopped focusing on the sale. We are completely committed to the success and well-being of our clients. Due to the demand for our services, our farm is planning on relocating to a larger facility and is now in the process of incorporating to better facilitate the accounting end of the business management.

The Product

Ereidi Farm can provide the following services for its market: breaking, training, and caring for broodmares, as well as rehabilitative care and treatment of injured racehorses. No horse is forced to go through a program because it doesn’t suit them. Our horses are happy, healthy, and confident after they have completed our programs. They are also relaxed about their work. We offer exceptional care to foaling and pregnant mares. High-risk mares will be accepted. Our farm maintains a 100% live foal percentage every year. Despite foaling older mares with problems, we take excellent care of these special mares. Horses from all parts of the country are welcome to our farm for therapy and post-operative work.

The thoroughness of our care insures that these athletes recover completely with minimal complications. All horses that the farm has rehabilitated have gone on to successful careers. Many are now racing again and in better shape. Our home-grown sales reflect our owner’s knowledge in equine breeding. Horses from the farm’s breeding programs have won races at the first asking and have done well in training. They are shining stars and do a great job representing the farm as well as their owners. Most importantly we provide “Full Circle” service for our clients. Our committment to their success is long lasting and at a depth not found in the racing community at large. Their success is our success and we are deeply aware of this need within the industry.

The Market

The United States continues to see a rise in the thoroughbred industry. The racing industry within the state of Pennsylvania is poised for an explosive period of growth within the next year as slot machine legislation is approved and passed. As is the demand for Pennsylvania-bred horse breeders, there is also a need to raise and train these horses. Pennsylvania is focused on becoming the premier racing state in the country, surpassing all other states in its purse and bonus monies awards, this is attracting large numbers of horses to Pennsylvania and the need for facilities to house them is growing rapidly.

This growth, coupled with the deterioration of traditionally strong racing state programs has caused a flurry of activity as owners of breeding and racing stock within these declining states seek to relocate their investments. These owners, as well as new investors and Pennsylvania owners who are looking to improve their programs, have been targeted by us. Our marketing programs focus on the popular venues used by our target audience. These programs are designed for potential clients to visit our farm, where sales are most common. We know that technology is necessary to compete in today’s markets. We have welcomed its use with open arms and been successful.

Financial Plans

While we started with a small farm for specific reasons, now we are looking to expand and use all of our abilities. His husband, the owner’s husband, is currently the parts director and service director at his business. He is responsible annually for $13.3 million in parts and sales and maintaining large inventories. He is responsible for 65 employees. He will be mentoring the owner regarding financial matters.

In summary, the financial projections represent the growth that will occur upon

The farm was relocated to its new high-quality facility. These profits represent the potential growth that can be achieved by securing a facility large enough to meet the market’s ever-growing demands. We expect profits for two reasons: 1) we are timing our market expansion at a critical time, just as the Pennsylvania thoroughbred industry enters its largest growth phase in its history and 2) our services to clients and their bloodstock is exceptional, it is simply world class.
